My First Feast of Tabernacles

My family and I would be observing the Feast of Tabernacles for the first time. Immediately, there were several questions on the table that we would have to consider and make decisions about.

Commemorating Forty Years in the Wilderness

How exciting. Me and my family would be observing the Feast of Tabernacles for the first time. Immediately, there were several questions on the table that we would have to consider and make decisions about. There is no branch of the church (Gathering of Christ Church) body here in New Mexico so we were on our own. Camping out was the ultimate idea. That is what we would like to do. It was what our forefathers did in remembrance of the forty year trek through the wilderness with Moses and The Most High God. I googled info on first time campers (it has been a long time since I’ve camped out) and found an informative article. More Here.

However, plans suddenly needed to be made for other things – my husband had to fly to Cali (we live in New Mexico now) for a dental appointment to have a serious fix on some dental work that this particular dentist had originated. So, that took out camping for this year. We will spend the time we have until next years feast to purchase our camping gear.

Our First Feast of Tabernacles Decision

What we finally decided was to utilize the back yard the whole week. One meal a day, in the backyard, during the 8 day observance along with scripture reading, discussion and family time together. This, we decided, would be how we would observe our first Feast of Tabernacles.

We are always at the mercy of the weather.

However the weather did not cooperate with us. It rained. So we had to make a different decision. We decided to go out to eat. We spent the day discussing Bible events and modern day happenings as they pertain to Bible prophecy. It was a very pleasant day.

Are you planning to observe the feast? How are you going to do it? Please feel free to share your plans for the observance in the comment section.

Many blessings to you and yours!
